Los Gatos community briefs for the week of June 19

Library has patio pickup

The Los Gatos Library has opened for patio pickup Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Patrons can place holds on up to 25 items at catalog.losgatosca.gov; the library will send an email confirmation when items are ready to be picked up. A mask and the email notification are required for patio pickup, and items will be checked out for three weeks.

Jazz Off the Plazz

Los Gatos Music & Arts, the group that normally stages the Jazz on the Plazz summer concert series, is presenting virtual shows this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The free Jazz Off the Plazz concerts will be streamed Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m., through Aug. 26 at www.jazzontheplazz.com.

Brooke & Emil were set to perform June 10 with a wide repertoire of songs from many genres, followed by vocalist Tony Lindsay and pianist John R. Burr on June 17.

On June 24, New York-based vocalist, composer, bandleader and educator Svetlana will present a set of swing, straight-ahead jazz and original material.

Long is new League president

Gail Long of Los Gatos was recently elected board president for the Los Gatos-Saratoga Chapter of Assistance League for 2020-21.

Other board members for this year include Lynn Sprague, membership; Judy Levin, resource development; Karin Abel and Judy Giraudo, philanthropic programs; Nancy Luttrull, secretary; Dru Barth, treasurer; Karen Azzi, strategic planning; and Kim Yegge, marketing communications.
