Free COVID-19 Testing

The Walgreens at 20011 Bollinger Road is offering free, drive-through COVID-19 testing daily, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with no appointment required. Individuals must be 18 and older and do not need to have health insurance.

The nasal swab test is self-administered and does not test for antibodies. Those who want to be tested should bring a valid ID and insurance card if they have insurance. Results will be available in three to four days.

For more information, visit cupertino.org/covid19testing or call Walgreens at 408-973-8402.

Sports center remains closed

State mandates regarding which businesses can open during the COVID-19 pandemic aren’t the only things shifting. The Cupertino Sports Center requires a seismic retrofit to meet state-regulated earthquake standards.

Construction is set to begin in early September and is expected to be completed in December.

“In consideration of the current state and county recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and the many restrictions required to accommodate a reopening, the sports center will remain closed through December 2020,” reads a notice from the city.

The sports center’s tennis courts will remain open when feasible during construction.

Doing business in the pandemic

Business owners who have questions about how to operate their business safely during the COVID-19 pandemic can visit the Santa Clara County Public Health Department’s website for answers.

Public Health is also staffing a business call center Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 408-961-5500.
