Council race forum
The Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a virtual forum Sept. 30 for residents to meet the six candidates for town council in the Nov. 3 election.
The forum, held on Zoom from 7-8:30 p.m., will focus in local business and the economy. Only the panelists, the moderator and the timer will be visible on the screen. Audience members will have audio access only.
Audience members can submit one question for the panelists when they register at https://www.losgatoschamber.com.
League talks pros and cons
The League of Women Voters of Southwest Santa Clara Valley is on Sept. 20 hosting the last of three “Pros and Cons” sessions on the 12 state, three county and three local measures on the Nov. 3 ballot. The league chapter covers Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and Saratoga.
The session stars at noon. The first two sessions were slated for Sept. 15 and 17. All are free and open to the public. Registration is required to https://tinyurl.com/LWVCandidateForum0916.One question for the candidates may be submitted only while completing the registration form.

‘Be-You-Tiful’ writing contest
The Eating Disorders Resource Center is accepting submissions for its 12th annual Be-You-Tiful, Be Free Writing Contest.
Bay Area students in grades 6-12 are invited to send in a poem or essay that addresses self-acceptance, mental health, social media and/or body image. The Campbell-based nonprofit hosts this contest to bring awareness to topics that are often stigmatized.
Entries will be accepted through March 5, 2021, and winners will be announced in the beginning of April. Middle and high school entries will be judged separately, with the top three poems and essays from each category awarded cash prizes of up to $300. Winning selections will also be featured on the center’s website.
