Downtown San Jose has been in the holiday spirit for the past month after the Kristi Yamaguchi Downtown Ice at the Circle of Palms opened Nov. 15.
The 1992 Olympic gold medalist has opened other holiday facilities such as the one at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon. The San Jose ice rink has been a tradition for the past 24 years and is expected to welcome 50,000 skaters. Admission, which includes skate rental, is $18 for adults and $15 for children 10 and younger.
The ice rink will be open from Dec. 20 to Jan. 4 from 11 a.m. to midnight. The hours from Jan. 5 to 12 will be from 5 to 9 p.m. with extended hours on weekends. On Christmas, the hours will run from 2 p.m. to midnight and New Year’s Day will feature hours from noon to midnight.
