Local residents can now vote on which local landmarks they want to see rendered in plastic bricks at the Legoland Discovery Center that’s set to open at the Great Mall next spring.
Models of these landmarks will be created for the Miniland area, found in every Legoland Discovery Center.
Votes can be cast at the Legoland Discovery Center’s Facebook page through Nov. 19; winners will be announced Nov. 21. Landmarks in the running are Milpitas City Hall, the Golden Gate Bridge, Levi’s Stadium, SAP Center, Winchester Mystery House, San Jose City Hall and Plaza de César Chávez.
The Milpitas Legoland, the first such center in California, is aimed at families with kids ages 3-10. In addition to the Miniland area, the 31,000-square-foot center will feature a brick pool, an Imagination Express train ride, an earthquake table, a 4D cinema, party rooms, and a retail shop. The 15-member staff will include a LEGO Master Model Builder, who will teach master classes in the center’s creative workshop.
Operated by Merlin Entertainments, Legoland at Great Mall will be Merlin’s 13th Discovery Center to open in the United States.
