Well, that didn’t last long. After spending less than a year at KTVU-TV (Channel 2), journalist Allison Rodriguez is leaving the Bay Area for a job at an Arizona station

Beginning in late March, Rodriguez will be a co-anchor of a morning show at the ABC affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona. She’s a familiar face in the Grand Canyon State, where she worked for eight years before coming to KTVU.

“I’m pleased to be reuniting with my colleagues at ABC15 and CW61 in March,” Rodriguez told the Arizona Republic. “It was hard being away these last several months from a place I’ve called home for almost a decade. This opportunity is a perfect fit that will allow me to tell stories that matter.”

A bilingual multimedia journalist for KTVU/Fox 2, Rodriguez arrived in the Bay Area last August.

“Moving to California was an easy decision,” she said at the time. “It has beautiful weather, scenery and a rich history and I can’t wait to tell more people’s stories.”

But it apparently didn’t work out. Bay Area media blogger Rich Lieberman, who regarded Rodriguez as a “future star,” surmised that she “wasn’t feeling the mojo and is headed back to Arizona where presumably the job is fresher and rent and living expenses considerably lower.”
