COVID-19 by the numbers
Santa Clara County’s Public Health Department has expanded its COVID-19 data dashboard to include information of confirmed cases numbers by city. As of April 15, Los Gatos had 23 confirmed cases, Monte Sereno fewer than 10.
According to a statement from the Public Health Department, “Limited testing capacity means that case counts represent only a small portion of cases within each city.”

Virtual outdoors
The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority and its partners are offering virtual, livestreamed events and programs for those who want a taste of the outdoors during the “shelter in place” order.
Saved By Nature is hosting “Fishing in Santa Clara County: 101” April 29. The livestream program offers a rundown of local reservoirs and creeks where fishermen can dip their lines responsibly, as well as the types of fish the can catch. A livestreamed walk along the Los Gatos Creek on May 6 will highlight the California beaver, Chinook salmon and steelhead rainbow trout that live in Santa Clara Valley waterways. Plants and trees along the riparian corridor will also be discussed. RSVP to https://www.savedbynature.org/event-info/creek-tales-nature-walk.
Both events are set for 10-11 a.m.
Childcare for essential workers
The Santa Clara County Office of Education, in partnership with community organizations and agencies throughout the county, is coordinating childcare programs for essential workers via a new online portal at https://www.sccoe.org/covid-19/childcare.
The portal offers resources to connect essential workers as defined by the Santa Clara County Department of Public Health to childcare programs in Santa Clara County. These programs are not open to the general public.
