Summer reading

Registration is open for the Santa Clara County Library District’s summer reading program, which runs online through July 31.

“Dig Deeper: Read, Investigate, Discover!” features dozens of online events, ranging from family activities to adult classes.

Children’s librarians are hosting special events every weekday at 3 p.m. on the district’s Facebook page. This includes book clubs on Mondays, special live performances and shows on Wednesdays and STEAM events on Thursdays. During the month of July, there will be virtual concerts for little ones, featuring performers such as Latin Grammy winners 123 Andrés.

Teen events include Virtual Teen Trivia on July 14 and craft activities set for June 30 and July 15 and 21.

For adults, librarians are hosting Virtual Film Clubs Thursdays at 7 p.m., as well as other events.

Patrons who register for the summer reading program at https://sccl.beanstack.org/reader365 can earn a prize for reading five books and completing discovery and investigative activities.
