Breakfast with Cortese

The Sunnyhills Neighborhood Association is hosting a July 11 breakfast Zoom meeting with Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese.

Cortese will answer questions about COVID-19 and what the county is doing to help residents, house the homeless population in Milpitas, develop policies that address systematic inequities, and reopen the county’s economy and schools safely.

The breakfast meeting begins at 8:30 a.m.  RSVP to info@sunnyhillsneighborhood.org.

Doing business in the pandemic

Business owners who have questions about how to operate their business safely during the COVID-19 pandemic can visit the Santa Clara County Public Health Department’s website for answers.

The site, at www.sccgov.org/cv19business, has information about requirements for operation, workforce resources, safety guidance for workers, preparing a social distancing protocol and maximizing remote work.

Public Health is also staffing a business call center Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 408-961-5500.

Painting the town online

In response to coronavirus restrictions, Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley is holding a virtual version of its annual Paint the Town fundraiser, set for Sept. 17.

“Paint the Town is typically held in our warehouse, reads an email from Rebuilding Together. “But this year we’re trying something new so that we can all join together safely.”

Proceeds from this event go directly to providing home repairs for local elderly and low income residents. There’s no charge to log in and join the party, but donations will be accepted for the nonprofit’s Rebuilding Days, when volunteers make these home repairs.
